California Conservation Corps
As a public information officer, I use photography to amplify the stories of young adults enrolled in the California Conservation Corps' workforce development programs - training for careers in forestry, firefighting, fisheries, habitat restoration, emergency response, and other environmental fields!
Featured Story: LA Watershed Protection
In the wake of the 2025 Los Angeles wildfires, harmful pollutants from burned vehicles and homes posed a serious risk to the local water supply. As a public information officer, I was dispatched to the emergency where I documented CCC Corpsmembers taking swift action, installing compost socks to safeguard local waterways.

Brazil, ALTO Artist in Residence
Alongside sculptor (and sister), Six Hotchkiss, I participated in a month-long artist residency program located in the heart of Brazil's Cerrado - one of the world's 36 biodiversity hotspots. Together we used this time to reflect, create, and connect to the local environment.

Brazil, Amazon & Pantanal Expedition
With guidance from my Girls Who Click mentor, Cathy Hart; members of the Alaska Society of Nature and Outdoor Photographers Association; and nature guides from South Wild, I refined my nature photography skills while visiting Brazil’s Amazon and Pantanal regions.
Behind the Scenes: Harpy
Perched on a platform, high above the forest floor, we photographed a juvenile harpy eagle.

Behind the Scenes: Jaguar
Floating on a small boat, we photographed this jaguar for hours. After checking us out, she made herself comfortable in a tree.

Tanzania, Youth Photography Expedition
With guidance from Girls Who Click mentor, Karine Aigner, I refined my nature photography skills while visiting Tanzania's Serengeti and Tarangire National Parks. During this adventure, I was joined by several young women looking to pursue conservation photography careers. I used a long lens (100-400) for the first time during this adventure!
